Shanghai Racing Star Zhou Guanyu Becomes China's First Full-Time F1 Driver
SHANGHAI, CHINA - NOVEMBER 17: Zhou Guanyu, first Chinese driver for Formula One race, speaks in an interview on November 17, 2021 in Shanghai, China. After much speculation, Zhou was officially announced by the Alfa Romeo team on Monday, and will partner experienced 10-time race-winner Valtteri Bottas during the 2022 season. "All these years in Formula Two, the experience, I think I'll be ready for jumping into Formula One, ready for the Formula One season. To be a Formula One driver is much more compact compared to Formula Two. You get a lot more busier, we're going to travel to 23 race weekends, it's going to be crazy next year. But overall I think after going through all the tracks, after working with the Formula One teams in the past, I feel I'm ready, I'm capable, of being involved in the team very soon, very quickly, and to be doing all these reactions in a good way and try to keep myself working hard as well as working together with my teammate," said Zhou in an interview.
