KAHRAMANMARAS, TÜRKİYE - FEBRUARY 10: A 51-year-old man pulled alive 116 hours after earthquake hits Kahramanmaras province. The IHH Ankara team, who is continuing the search and rescue operation in the rubble of Birgul Apartments in Hayrullah Neighborhood of Onikisubat district, intensified their efforts after contact was made with the father of 20-year-old Derman Nedirli, who was recovered from the rubble yesterday. Mevlüt Nedirli, 51, was handed over to the health teams after being rescued from the rubble 116 hours later. At least 20,213 people were killed and 80,052 others injured by two strong earthquakes that jolted southern Türkiye on Monday, Health Minister Fahrettin Koca said on Friday. The magnitude 7.7 and 7.6 earthquakes, centered in the Kahramanmaras province, affected more than 13 million people across 10 provinces, also including Adana, Adiyaman, Diyarbakir, Gaziantep, Hatay, Kilis, Malatya, Osmaniye, and Sanliurfa. Several countries in the region, including Syria and Lebanon, also felt the strong tremors that struck Türkiye in the space of fewer than 10 hours. Vice President Fuat Oktay said at a news conference in the nation’s capital of Ankara that 67 people were rescued from the rubble in 24 hours.
