Cockatoo Sees Former Owner For the First Time in 10 Years After Surgery Restores Eyesight

A 40-year-old cockatoo was delighted to see his former owner for the first time after ten years in late March, after a surgery restored his eyesight. Footage filmed by Amy Hurst shows her cockatoo, Boo, bouncing his head excitedly and nuzzling up against Nedra, his former owner, at a home in Smithfield, Virginia. Hurst told Storyful that this was Boo's first time seeing Nedra's face after being blind for over ten years. Boo lived with Nedra for 20 years before Hurst adopted him earlier in 2024.
