At least https://www.facebook.com/GovAndyBeshear/posts/1257979222437032 19 people were killed across southeastern Kentucky after a tornado tore through the area on Friday night, May 16, while https://www.wlky.com/article/national-weather-service-ef3-tornado-london-kentucky/64805923 local media reported EF-3-level damage in parts of Laurel County. Governor Andy Beshear https://www.facebook.com/GovAndyBeshear/posts/1258112042423750 confirmed that at least 19 people lost their lives, with 17 of those fatalities occurring in Laurel County as a result of the tornado. The remaining two deaths were reported in Pulaski and Russell counties.
