Slitherin' Around the Christmas Tree: Snake Gets in the Holiday Spirit

Who says snakes can't celebrate Christmas? A female boomslang on South Africa's Western Cape got into the festive spirit on December 10 by twisting herself around a family's Christmas tree. Snake-catcher Gerrie Heyns was called in to remove and relocate the animal. "I don't want snakes to be made out to be bad and scary. They're animals that will only bite when disturbed or threatened. We do this for the conservation of wildlife, and especially snakes," Heyns said. (Footage by Gerrie Heyns/Storyful via Getty Images UGC)
