Interviewer: What was your relationship like with the other cast members; I mean obviously you were re-united with Rue, who you worked with on “Maude.” Bea: Well Rue and I were of course, my god we were together for six, five years-five years, um, it was uh, it was such an ideal arrangement because we had a director Terry Hughes and the writing, the writing staff, I mean you, it does begin with the written word, and it sure as hell did with uh, with “Golden Girls,” my god I mean every-every-everybody, everything, and it was again it was like “Maude” in that uh I wasn’t aware of this apparently uh in a lot of shows you’re given the script, and you read the script, but we were able to say wait a minute, you know I don’t think, I don’t know, shouldn’t Betty take that line and then I would, you know or we would always discuss with the uh, with the writers, and um, and uh you know, the producers, and everybody and decide what, oh it was a joy.
