Vulnerable species Giant Clam (Tridacna gigas) on underwater coral reef - HD stock video
One Giant Clam (Tridacna gigas) balances on a ridge deep below the surface of the Andaman Sea. These clams are a rare site due to overfishing for their meat and pearls now classed as a ‘Vulnerable species’. Their shells are open by day to allow sunlight to feed the algae within via photosynthesis. Footage obtained when scuba diving at Phi Phi islands, Krabi province, which is one of Thailand’s top travel destinations.
