Universal Beijing Resort To Start Invite-only Trial Opening

BEIJING, CHINA - AUGUST 22: Visitors visit Universal Studios Beijing on August 22, 2021 in Beijing, China. Universal Beijing Resort will begin its trial operations on Sept. 1 after undergoing three months of internal pressure testing. The long-awaited opening of the theme park, located in Beijing's Tongzhou District, consists of the Universal Studios theme park, the Universal CityWalk, and two destination hotels, making it the world's largest Universal Studios when it opens. The period of trial operations is only open to invited guests, including the park's business partners, as well as a limited group of fans chosen from a marketing campaign. Universal Beijing Resort's president and general manager Tom Mehrmann said the resort's rides, entertainment facilities, and performances will run at a reduced capacity during the trial phase. Epidemic control and prevention measures will be strictly followed throughout the trial operations, according to the resort. All invited visitors must upload their personal information in advance. They must also pass a temperature check and present a valid digital health code before entering the resort. At the resort's main entrance, 18 security gates have been set up to ensure that visitors maintain a safe distance from one another at all times. There are also numerous signs reminding visitors to wear masks and maintain social distancing inside the resort. Hand sanitizers can also be found throughout the park.
