Valuable Stradivarius violin is played before auction
Violinist Charlie Siem plays the Joachim-Ma Stradivarius Violin at Sotheby's in London, ahead of its sale at Masters Week in New York on February 7, where the instrument crafted by Antonio Stradivari in 1714 is estimated to fetch $12-18 million, with all proceeds benefiting the New England Conservatory.
Renowned for its extraordinary sound and exquisite beauty, the violin is part of Stradivari's "Golden Period" - widely regarded as the height of his craftsmanship.
