Tinkling of a thousand wind chimes fills pottery destination Imari
Video footage taken on July 7 shows hundreds of wind chimes tinkling in the wind in Imari, Saga Prefecture, during the city’s annual Furin Matsuri festival devoted to the summer ornaments. Known for its ceramic wares, the city’s Okawachiyama district boasts a narrow street lined with 30 pottery workshops, 20 of which are taking part in the display of about 1,000 chimes in various patterns and sizes. The video footage was taken by Motoki Nagasawa of The Asahi Shimbun.
