Former elementary school in rural Tottori Prefecture region reborn as stylish hotel

Video footage taken on July 17 in rural Yazu, Tottori Prefecture, shows classrooms converted into stylish guest rooms at a former elementary school that was shut down in 2017 but is now ready to welcome the public as a hotel on July 20, Operated by a local firm that also runs a nearby chicken farm and pasture that receives tourists, the new Ooe Valley Stay hotel includes both dormitory rooms and suites among its 22 offerings, as well as an irori hearth around which guests can gather and cook.
