Shikoku bus filled with dummies takes tourists back in time with built-in diorama
Video footage taken on July 1 shows the debut of an unusual bus with scarecrows seated around a traditional “irori” fireplace in the rear, which provides a photo opportunity for tourists. Unable to completely fill the bus with passengers, operator Kotohira Bus Co. in Kagawa Prefecture removed four rows of seats out of 11 to create the diorama. The scene is inspired by an old farmhouse in the Iya district in Tokushima Prefecture, a popular tourist spot and one of the destinations for the bus.
