Immense underground basin beneath Tokyo serves as classical music venue
Video footage taken on Jan. 22 in Tokyo’s Suginami Ward shows a trio of classical musicians performing a work by Claude Debussy in an immense underground water retention basin. The basin measures 4.5 kilometers in length with a 12.5-meter diameter and can contain 540,000 cubic meters of water. (Jin Nishioka)
