Tokushima railway firm’s dual mode vehicle can function as bus or train

Video footage taken on Dec. 15 in Kaiyo, Tokushima Prefecture, shows a dual mode vehicle (DMV), operated by Asa Seaside Railway Corp., changing from its wheeled bus configuration to become a railway motor carriage during a test run. Although a concept vehicle was first developed by Hokkaido Railway Co., the Tokushima firm will be the first to put the idea into practice in Japan. The video footage was taken by Tsukasa Fuke of The Asahi Shimbun.
