Gifu Prefecture city turns to goats to serve as groundskeepers

Video footage taken April 14 in Minokamo, Gifu Prefecture, shows a small herd of goats that are outsourced by the city to take care of overgrown grass. The animals are brought to their workplace up to three times a week from April until November, a practice now in its 11th year. Using the herd for grass control can save a third of the cost of employing humans, according to the city’s parks and public space management section. (Noboru Tomura)
