Gold, platinum cover ice cream cones in Kanazawa

Video footage shows the unusual gold- and platinum-encrusted soft-serve ice cream offered at Kenjotei, a cafe in Kanazawa, the capital of Ishikawa Prefecture, known for producing 99 percent of "kinpaku" ultra-thin gold foil in Japan. The glittering cones cost 1,000 yen and 2,000 yen, respectively. Part of traditional crafts, gold leaf is also used in Japanese sweets and sake, as well as on such commodities as face masks.
