Senator Welch calls on lawmakers to legislate bipartisan prescription drug pricing bill after Trump issues executive order

Vermont Senator Peter Welch says in floor remarks that President Trump had issued an executive order that he supported, expressing hope that Trump would follow through because they needed the leadership of the president and his influence in Congress to get international reference pricing and make more progress on pricing negotiation to make life-saving medications more accessible, while extending the same challenge to Trump that he had extended to pharmaceutical companies to not get cute about avoiding the responsibility to bring down prescription drug prices.
