Congressman Welch urges judicial review to insulate special counsel
Vermont Congressman Peter Welch says not to make any mistake that through his words and actions President Donald Trump and allies were trying to destroy and upend the investigation of special counsel Robert Mueller through provocative tweets, witchhunts, reckless action, firing former FBI director Jim Comey and Deputy Director Andy McCabe, that the question was not what the president wants to do or may do, but what Congress must do with a bill introduced to protect the Mueller investigation by requiring a review of a three-judge panel prior to any dismissal, asking if Congress will instead acquiesce to threats and temper tantrums.
