Matty Healy Has Sweet Interaction With British Fans at Traffic Light in Los Angeles

Two British friends on vacation in Los Angeles, California, shared a sweet moment with The 1975 frontman Matty Healy after spotting him at a set of traffic lights on July 24. Jade Bulmer captured the moment on camera, telling Storyful that she and her friend Nicola had just arrived in LA and were stopped at a traffic light while driving to their hotel when they noticed a homeless man asking for donations. She said they complimented the man in front of them on his generosity as he handed over items such as water, before realizing it was Healy. "Nicola wound down the window and called for Matty by shouting his name. This is when he turns around in the video with a friendly smile,' Bulmer said. "We are from the northeast of England and Matty's family is from Newcastle, a neighboring city. We had a quick joke as we said we were from Sunderland (which has a bit of a rivalry with Newcastle when it comes to football, or soccer in America) and laughed about this." After the lights changed Bulmer said that Healy signaled for them to pull over so they could https://www.tiktok.com/@jadealexandriaart/video/7259843634642685211 meet and take pictures . "He gave us both a hug and it was super down to earth," she said, adding that the trio "made a few football jokes" with Healy showing "his loyalty" to Newcastle United by noting "his Newcastle tattoo on his upper arm". "Overall, it was such a friendly experience, he was so sweet and down to earth with us and it's been a huge highlight of the trip,"Bulmer said. (Footage by Jade Bulmer/Storyful via Getty Images)
