ISTANBUL, TÃœRKÄ°YE - JAN. 16: Turkish megastar Tarkan made a triumphant return to the Istanbul stage on Friday, Jan. 16, ending a nearly seven-year hiatus with a sold-out performance at the Volkswagen Arena.Launching an eight-concert series organized by Hitt Production, the "Prince of Pop" opened the night with his 1997 smash hit "Olurum Sana," followed by the fan-favorite "Dudu."An emotional Tarkan addressed the enthusiastic crowd during the show, apologizing for his long absence from the city's concert scene."You are unique, Istanbul, you have no equal. Forgive me, I shouldn't have stayed away for so many years," the singer told fans.The demand for the superstar's return was evident in record-breaking sales; tickets for the first four shows sold out in just 45 minutes, with the remaining dates snatched up within an hour.The star-studded audience included prominent figures from the Turkish entertainment world, such as actors Ezgi Mola, Merve Dizdar, and Burcin Terzioglu.Tarkan will continue his concert series at the venue on Jan. 17, 20, 23, 24, 27, 30, and 31.(Footage by Ibrahim Koklu/Anadolu Agency via Getty Images)
