2020 Tokyo Olympic Games: Stuart Bithell interview; ***OLYMPIC RINGS VISIBLE - MAY BE SOLD FOR EDITORIAL PURPOSES ONLY*** JAPAN: Tokyo: EXT Stuart Bithell (Sailor, Team GB) interview SOT Q: YOU'VE HAD A COUPLE OF DAYS FOR EVERYTHING TO SINK IN, HOW DO YOU FEEL ABOUT IT NOW - Still pretty good, I woke up the morning after checking it wasn't a dream, looked for the medal at the end of the bed and thought 'ah yeah it did happen, that's pretty awesome' Q: YOUR JOURNEY TO NOW HAS BEEN PRETTY UNCONVENTIONAL - It started up in Rochdale, Hollingworth Lake the sailing club down there, my mum and dad took me down as a young kid and I completely fell in love with being outside and being on the water / before long I started doing a bit of racing, got in the Royal Yachting Association system, at 18 went full time and never looked back since then Q: HAVE YOU SEEN THE VIDEOS OF YOUR MUM CELEBRATING - I saw the videos, I could only watch it once as it was a bit emotional but yeah, incredible, I think they had a few members from there watching as well so really nice to see that Q: THERE IS A BIT OF A DISCONNECT WITHOUT THE SUPPORT HERE, HOW MUCH HAS IT MEANT TO ATHLETES OUT HERE TO SEE THOSE VIDEOS - When we're out here we've got a job to do and focused on what we're doing, the support brings it all to life and makes it all more special, that you aren't doing it on your own Q: WHAT WILL YOU DO WHEN YOU GET BACK HOME - Spend a bit of time with my girlfriend initially, she was going to come out here and hasn't been able to do that, and a bit of time with family as well, and I think I've just booked in actually to go back to the sailing club and show this to the members, especially the younger ones, I remember being shown Olympic medals at that age, it meant a lot to me, hopefully will help inspire them a bit Q: AND YOUR SAILING CAREER NOW (WHAT NEXT) - Sailing career, again, probably just let the dust settle from this trip, but originally the plan was f...
