Giles Scott (Sailor, Team GB) interview SOT
Q: HAS IT SUNK IN YET
- No I don't think so fully but I suppose on the slow comedown from racing and just basking the relief to be honest / not waking up stressed each day is quite nice
Q: HAVE YOU SPOKEN TO PEOPLE AT HOME
- A little bit yeah I have / my brother's been out here, he works for Team GB, so he came down to watch the sailing so he was on the dock when I got in and spoke to the family then, so yeah that was nice and it'll be nice to get home and catch up properly for sure
Q: HAVE YOU SEEN THE SUPPORT BACK HOME

- Oh yeah absolutely worth it / I came here as the defending Olympic champion and when you take on your second Olympics you feel, for me personally you're almost hanging the old medal and putting it on the line / you achieved everything you wanted to four or five years ago and you come back and try and do it again / ultimately there's only one thing you really want from it / that's certainly provided quite a bit of internal pressure for sure
Q: BACK HOME, WHO'S HELPED YOU ON YOUR JOURNEY
- I mean parents for sure, mum and dad have been supporting me forever / I know they were nervous wrecks watching the racing a few days ago / girlfriend Sophie, all team-mates at INEOS have been amazing as well / there's so many, there...
