This footage was filmed and produced 8 March 2023. On March 8, 2023, firefighters in Evergreen, Colorado rescued an elk that had fallen through the ice on a frozen pond. Witnesses called emergency services for help. Video of the rescue obtained from the Evergreen Fire/Rescue Department shows the firefighters using metal rods to push the elk out of the water and onto dry land. The elk was unharmed and was able to rejoin its herd. Firefighters reminded the public to stay off the ice for safety
