The driver attempted to flee but was caught after jumping into sticker bushes. The chase started after a patrol deputy initiated a traffic stop, suspecting that the driver was impaired. The chase ended when a Lakewood officer used stop sticks and the deputy used a PIT manoeuvre to stop the truck. The suspect then fled on foot but was eventually caught and found to have been driving a stolen vehicle. The suspect was charged with DUI, eluding, possession of a stolen vehicle, and resisting arrest and was booked into jail
