Film: 'The Simpsons Movie': Matt Groening interview; ENGLAND: London: INT Matt Groening ('The Simpsons' creator) interview SOT - On the environment and 'The Simpsons', global warming issues / Political fantasies within the film / Politics aren't monolithic, conservative writers, good progressive liberal democrats, more and more in agreement about politics, so aghast about way things have turned out in so many ways, a strong point of view is really important for good comedy and me personally, anti-authority attitude - Huge fan of Al Gore, movie is not a commercial for the environment, not a feel-good thing, an entertainment experience, ok to put in issues of the day, that's a good thing - I always vote for the political losers, the guy that doesn't win / The only time I voted for a winner was Al Gore / The Simpsons and good cartoons in general are the result of people who, kind of guys like me, sitting in the back of class, shy, took it out on people around us with our cool drawings
