Belgium sends humanitarian aid supplies to Gazans by air
BRUSSELS, BELGIUM - MARCH 4, 2024: The military aircraft carrying humanitarian aid supplies sent by Belgium to Gaza for aerial delivery took off for Jordan on Monday (March 4).
The A400M military transport aircraft, loaded with bales containing food, hygiene products, and medical supplies, took off from Melsbroek military airport in Brussels.
The aircraft was bid farewell by Foreign Minister Hadja Lahbib, Defense Minister Ludivine Dedonder, and Cooperation for Development Minister Caroline Gennez.
The aircraft, carrying €500 million worth of supplies, will arrive in Jordan with the assistance of the Belgian First Aid and Support Team (B-FAST).
Then, in collaboration with Jordan, the bundles will be parachuted to designated locations in northern Gaza.
Belgium announced that it would airdrop humanitarian aid to Gaza on March 1st, following Israel's attack on civilians awaiting humanitarian aid delivery.(Footage by Dursun Aydemir /Anadolu Agency via Getty Images)
