Johnny Dankworth on purpose of anti-racism campaign, UK; 1959

The jazz musician John (Johnny) Dankworth explains the purpose of the Stars Campaign for Interracial Friendship (SCIF), saying, 'Well the objectives of the campaign are largely to counteract any cranky organisations which try to preach the gospel of a master race anywhere [which] seem laughable on the face of it, but they aren't really laughable, because Adolf Hitler started a similar organisation about twenty, twenty-five years ago which caused the deaths of millions and millions of people and the suffering of millions more.' UK; 1959. (LCA6661A - AEVZ001J)
