KEREM SHALOM, ISRAEL - DECEMBER 22, 2023: The Israeli military official on Friday claimed that there is no food shortage in the besieged Gaza Strip, alleging that humanitarian aid organizations are responsible for the distribution of the incoming aid. The Coordination of Government Activities in the Territories (COGAT), a unit of the Israeli military responsible for coordinating Israeli government activities in the Palestinian territories, conducted a press tour to provide information about the situation at the Kerem Shalom (Kerem Abu Salem) border crossing, where Israel oversees the entry of aid into Gaza. �����吋he challenge right now is with the capacity of the international aid Organization to receive it. Finally, in terms of food, the reserves in Gaza Strip are sufficient for the near term. There is no food shortage in Gaza. And as I mentioned, international organizations are bringing food into the Gaza Strip every day.��� Coordination of Government Activities in Territories (COGAT), Colonel Moshe Tetro said. ���Since the beginning of the war, over 2500 trucks containing over 50,000 tons of food have already entered the Gaza Street��� Tetro added. Israel launched relentless air and ground attacks on the Gaza Strip following a cross border attack by Palestinian group Hamas on Oct. 7. The Palestinian death toll from Israeli attacks on the Gaza Strip has soared to 20,057, the Health Ministry in the blockaded enclave said on Friday. The official Israeli death toll stands at 1,200.
