First Aurora Borealis of 2022 Swirls Above North Dakota
The first northern lights of 2022 swirled above northeastern North Dakota in the early hours of January 1. Kelsey Byre told Storyful that she sat outside her car for about three hours early on New Year's Day to catch the aurora in Grafton. "(I) watched a beautiful light show progress and fade down," Byre told Storyful. (Footage by Kelsey Byre/Storyful via Getty Images)
