Cast of Passing how police brutality and colourism is explored in new Netflix film
The cast of the new Netflix film Passing discuss how they were drawn to the story, which is an adaptation of a novel by the same name, that follows the lives of two black women who can “pass” as white during the height of the Harlem Renaissance in late 1920s New York.
Both Andre Holland and Ruth Negga says the tale resonated with their own personal stories, and the director, Rebecca Hall, explains that despite her white appearance her own family have a history of being black and ‘passing’ as white.
The film is on Netflix on October 29.
