Kenyan athletes Robert Ngeno and Betty Chepkwony win 30th International Rome Marathon
ROME, ITALY - MARCH 16: The 30th edition of the International Rome Marathon took place in Italy this year, with Kenyan athletes Robert Ngeno and Betty Chepkwony winning the men's and women's races respectively.
The marathon took place over a 42.195 kilometer course through the historic center of the Italian capital.
Starting from the iconic Colosseum along the Fori Imperiali Boulevard, the race attracted over 50,000 athletes from 120 countries.
Several streets and squares in the city were closed to traffic for the event. Tourists visiting Rome showed their support for the runners by cheering them on throughout the race.
