15th Beijing International Film Festival opens with red carpet tributes

BEIJING, CHINA - APRIL 18: The 15th Beijing International Film Festival (BJIFF) officially opened on Friday, April 18, with a ceremony at the Yanqi Lake Conference Center in the northeast of the Chinese capital. Ahead of the opening, the red carpet event showcased live tributes to iconic characters and memorable scenes from both Chinese and international cinema. The ceremony was attended by the jury president of the 15th Tiantan Award, Jiang Wen, along with other jury members, including Chinese-American actress and director Joan Chen, British film director and producer David Yates, Chinese actress Ni Ni, Swiss/French actor, director, and photographer Vincent Perez, Hong Kong art director and visual artist Tim Yip, and Finnish director Teemu Nikki. Seventeen films from various countries will compete in the festival’s main competition section, judged by a seven-member jury led by Chinese actor and director Jiang Wen. Winners will receive the Tiantan (Temple of Heaven) Awards during the closing ceremony on April 27.
