House Intelligence Committee GOP brief press after Trump Jr interview

Texas Congressman Michael Conaway is joined by members of the House Select Intelligence Committee Trey Gowdy and Tom Rooney after interviewing Donald Trump, Jr., as part of a probe into alleged collusion between the 2016 Trump campaign and persons from Russia. Conaway says Trump answered all questions at the meeting conducted with a professional decorum, refusing to discuss questioning about a July 2016 meeting at Trump Tower, telling reporters, the investigation would be conducted expeditiously, that it was premature to give a judgment until all the facts are in and premature conclusions would taint the inquiry. Gowdy says of a call by Elijah Cummings to subpoena a whistleblower regarding Michael Flynn that he understands Democrats want every committee to investigate the matter but that is not the best use of resources. Conaway directs reporters to the White House to clarify its statements, asked if witnesses were consistent he would not comment on witnesses and told them.
