Teacher Christa McAuliffe stands with the crew of STS-51-L outdoors on a windy day, giving a press conference about the lesson plans she will give aboard the space shuttle Challenger. The clip begins with a medium shot off sticks of McAuliffe standing beside Judith Resnik, before zooming in to a close up on her face. She says: "Well the first one is called 'The Ultimate Field Trip,' and I'll start in the flight deck, introduce the commander and pilot, and the go down to the mid-deck. And it's basically showing how you have to adapt for weightless environment in order to live in space. And the second one is called 'Why We are in Space,' and it will talk about some of the experiments that are on board, the deployment of the satellites, and Greg Jarvis, the payload specialist, is going to talk about his fluid dynamics experiment. We're going to end up with the space station, because a lot of the students watching it hopefully will be on that space station some day."
