Swimmers, former Olympians and amateur athletes react to their first socially-distanced gym experience in over three months, at the London Aquatics Centre and Gym in Stratford. Mark Sesnan, the chief executive of GLL, which is the UK's largest operator of public leisure facilities,says gym-goers should be prepared to book in advance, come dressed in their active wear, and maintain social distancing while exercising - though they won't be expected to wear a face covering. He adds going swimming is "like sanitising your whole body" and explains why "no pool in the country will let you do backstroke now." Invictus games swimming champion and RAF veteran Mark Goody, who has a prosthetic leg, says being unable to exercise without a pool during lockdown has been "detrimental" to his mental health and that swimming pools should have opened sooner. Seasoned swimmers Joe Northover and Emma Shaw, and former Olympic synchronised swimmer Asha Randall describe their first socially-distanced indoor pool experience in almost three months, and early bird gym-goer Michael Macki says he is "really excited" to ditch the home workouts and train again.
