Stanford law professor says Trump must be held to account with impeachment

Stanford law professor Pamela Karlan tells the House Judiciary Committee at its first public impeachment inquiry hearing enclosing her prepared statement of President Donald Trump that a president who cared about the Constitution should say to Russia if they were listening to butt out of US elections but Trump strong-armed a foreign leader and smearing and opponent in the ongoing election season, not politics as usual in the United States or any mature democracy, instead a cardinal reason why the Constitution contains the impeachment power, put simply a president should resist foreign interference in elections, not demand and welcome it, so if Congress were to keep faith with the Constitution in the Republic, Trump must be held to account.
