Speck Mellencamp gets out of Indiana jail
Speck Wildhorse Mellencamp, son of American rock star John Mellencamp, and model Elaine Irwin, walks out of the Monroe County Jail where his father John Mellencamp is waiting. Speck is serving a four day jail sentence served in 12 hour stints. Mellencamp's attorney requested the arrangement because he said it will reduce, “the risk that he (Speck) will suffer a debilitating panic attack." Mellencamp recieved the sentence after he and his older brother Hud pleaded guilty to misdemeanor battery stemming from a July 2013 altercation. The two brothers allegedly punched and kicked a 19-year-old man. Police had the sidewalks taped off near the jail exit because a person was threatening to jump off a nearby parking garage, so Speck had to walk alone while looking for his ride home after getting out. John Mellencamp has been seen picking up his son from the jail in the past few days.
