A shark was spotted swimming close to beachgoers at Aberystwyth Beach in Aberystwyth, Wales, on Friday, May 2. Video captured by Laura Davies shows the shark near the shoreline - much to the thrill of excited beachgoers. Speaking to Storyful, Davies said the shark remained close to the shoreline for about three hours, attracting a somewhat large crowd of onlookers. "It did beach itself once but two people pushed it back into the water. It's back fin was red, possibly with blood. The coastguard arrived to provide crowd control. This was essential as people were swimming with it and trying to get close, stressing the shark out," Davies said. "It is advised that members of the public don't attempt to handle a shark if it strands to avoid injury. BDMLR said the shark's dorsal fin was flushed red in colour, indicating "it was distressed and not oxygenating itself properly."
