Paul McCartney is interviewed on whether he believes Sergeant Pepper was a landmark, and whether the remaining Beatles would consider getting back together.

Music: Sergeant Pepper's twentieth anniversary event / Paul McCartney interview; Part 2 of 2 (PICTURE QUALITY AS SUPPLIED)ENGLAND: London: Abbey Road Studios:INTPaul McCartney (Musician) interview SOTQ: DO YOU FEEL LOOKING BACK THAT THE ALBUM WAS A LANDMARK- I think so yeah / we started off trying to make the album by saying 'if we make just another Beatles album it'll just be the same as the others with different songs' / so we wanted to really do something very different, and I got the idea to call the band Sergeant Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band, just so that every decision we made on the album would be taken by those people and not us, it was a liberating thing / so we did it that way, the music turned out different, all the lyrics turned out different; something like 'Being for the Benefit of Mr Kite' which is one of the tracks on it was actually just taken off a poster that John had in his house / and people read meaning into that / 'Lucy in the Sky With Diamonds' was read as being an LSD thing, it actually was a picture that Julian, John's son brought home from school, and when John said 'what's that', he said 'it's Lucy in the Sky With Diamonds' and John said that's a great title / that's actually the truth about that, but the times were pretty heady / you just rode all of that and you let them get on with that, like you still have to these days / you let the rumours come and go and you just get on with what you do / we just wanted to do something different and I think we did itQ: THE INEVITABLE QUESTION, WILL THE BEATLES GET BACK TOGETHER TO DO SOMETHING ELSE, THE THREE OF YOU- No, I understand there's been a DJ on the radio saying we've made a new record togetherQ: I THINK YOU CAN OPEN THE NEWSPAPERS EVERY WEEK AND-- Yeah, there's always some sort of rumours / there actually are rumours; I read a couple of weeks ago I've been seen in a pub with George and Ringo discussing it / it wasn't true you know, we haven't made a new reco...
