Senate moves to rare closed session as Barrett Supreme Court nomination considered
Senator John Kennedy of Louisiana presiding, a motion made by the Minority Leader having been seconded the Senate we go into closed session, Kennedy directing the Sergeant at arms to clear all galleries, close all doors and exclude from the chamber and immediate cortisol employees and officials of the Senate who and the role were not eligible to attend a closed session and were not sworn to secrecy, the question not debatable, pursuant to rule 29 authorizing the secretary's desk staff and deputies, assistant secretaries for the majority minority to remain in the chamber during the closed session, adding there could not be an objection, laying the gavel.
