Divers Rescue Baby Shark Trapped by Broken Fishing Line
A scuba diver captured in a https://www.instagram.com/tv/CJb0UNnBQiT/?igshid=1r9icibzp43rq December 31 Instagram video the moment she and a diving companion saved a baby shark that was pinned to the seabed by a broken fishing line in Port Phillip Bay, Victoria. This footage, shot by Jules Casey, shows the young https://australian.museum/learn/animals/fishes/port-jackson-shark-heterodontus-portusjacksoni-meyer-1793/ Port Jackson shark laying still among the seabed flora with a fishing hook piercing its mouth. After cutting the fishing line and removing the hook, they set the shark pup free. Casey wrote in the Instagram post featuring the video that they had to take the shark to a pier and ask a fisherman to remove the hook. "This little girl went through an extremely stressful time but she was strong and hopefully will fully recover from her near-death experience," Casey wrote.
