On of the things I've been making clear on this trip is my aspiration to make London the sporting capital of the world, not just american football, not just baseball, not just boxing or tennis, cricket and so forth. But at some point we would like the olympics back - I'll be in LA tomorrow who are hosting the olympics after Paris in 2028 - LA have now had the olympics three times as well as London - we want a sustainable world but want that to include the olympics -not building stadiums that stand empty but reusing stadiums that already exist"DG: "Your tory rivals say that it is an expensive distraction - what do you say to that?"SK:"What I would say to those who are critical of me coming to bang the drum for London, for our city, is to understand how the global economy works. We are a global city and we are also a city that after Brexit has got to carry on being a success and that means attarcting investment and talent, attracting students and tourists and I don't apologise at all for banging the drum for our city, for jobs for investment - and being a champion for London. The response I've seen here, it is still seen as the greatest city in the world"
