Rwanda marks 31st anniversary of genocide in country

KIGALI, RWANDA - APRIL 07: Rwandan President Paul Kagame and his wife Jeannette Kagame attended the commemoration ceremony held at the Genocide Memorial and Museum in the capital Kigali to mark 31st anniversary of genocide in country. In Rwanda in 1994, Hutus launched a genocide against Tutsis whom they blamed for the downing of then President Juvenal Habyarimana's plane, and more than 800 thousand moderate Hutus and Tutsis lost their lives in the 100-day massacre in the country. The massacre in Rwanda is recognized as one of the biggest genocides in history. The UN organizes the Rwandan Genocide Victims Remembrance Day on April 7 every year.
