- About six years ago, having dinner at The Dorchester with Bill Bryson / He had just taken on Chancellorship here / I agreed to come up here and do a drama class / Recently read he was leaving so got in touch with him to do it quickly / On the students: They stayed engaged for three hours / If you can keep their focus and attention, feels like they were getting something out of it / Did some exercises, vocal warm up and finished with Q+A / Popped a few balloons for them in terms of what they are fearful about / At their age I was fearful too / I started working as an actor at six so had mentors all my life such as Jack Thompson, Brian Brown, worked with Anthony Hopkins / With great actors, the communication thing is really simple / Those things have stayed with me / Wife's mum comes from York - Saw the family a couple of months ago Had fun - Never been further north than York - York Minister is one of my favourite buildings / Tonight doing a screening of a home movie I made in 1999 prior to Gladiator / It's a motorbike trip / Examination of my friends and what happens / Friends of mine from Ireland will be doing some songs
