On the historical importance of the 100 Club & his brothers who played in blues and jazz bands / Landmark of early English blues and rock'n'roll / If they closed it down they'd have to have a blue plaque put up, if they have the cheek to put the rent up like I've heard / Think they should make an exception because of the historic value / Not quite sure what his fondest memory is of 100 Club because was always too drunk [laughs] / Seeing people like Howlin' Wolf and Muddy Waters when they first came to England / When Stones piano player Ian Stewart died we did a tribute concert here / We had snow then, Charlie was late getting up from Devon / The place attracts musicians from the ground upwards / I was going to say it's dirty and filthy and scruffy but today it looks very presentable, I've never seen it with the lights on / That will soon change tonight - it will get dingy and sweaty & be full of great atmosphere / it's a shame they don't let you smoke indoors because that's what's missing with the atmosphere
