The Who enter the Music Walk of Fame
Rock legends The Who are unveiled as the first act in Britain to receive a stone on The Music Walk of Fame at an event in Camden Town.
Frontman Roger Daltrey and guitarist Pete Townsend were present at the ceremony with the latter saying: "This will be great for Camden and will be a measure of what we all do" in the British music industry."
Primal Scream front man Bobby Gillespie, who was a special guest at the unveiling, told attended that The Who were 'punk before punk' as he spoke about the band's impact on his own musical career. The new hall of fame stone is now permanently located outside Camden Town tube station, which is an area synonymous with the history of British rock music.
