Extraordinary Video Shows Rock Lobsters Aggregating Off New Zealand Coast
Rob Wilson went diving near Taputeranga Marine Reserve in Wellington, New Zealand, on July 2, when he spotted a group of lobsters aggregating on the outer edges of the reef. Rob Wilson told Storyful: "At certain times of the year, female lobsters form aggregations on the outer edges of the reef. Sometimes these aggregations are for spawning (where the female lobster releases the eggs she has been carrying under her tail)." The rock lobsters featured in the video (Jasus edwardsii) is http://naturewatch.org.nz/taxa/103601-Jasus-edwardsii native to New Zealand . (Footage By Rob Wilson/Storyful via Getty Images)
