Retiring New Mexico Senator Tom Udall says in last floor speech to the Senate that he would miss the righteous struggle taken up in the halls of Congress to build a more perfect union, would miss staff and colleagues and everyone worked around the clock including unsung heroes who kept the Senate running, every Senator knowing there were only as good as the people on the team and as friend Patrick Leahy said Senators were often just a constitutional impediment to staff.
