Congresswoman Lee begins farewell to the House citing Ron Dellums
Retiring California Congresswoman Barbara Lee says in her final floor speech in congress that it would be her final floor speech after 26 years serving California's 12th congressional district in the House of Representatives, having been sworn in on April 21, 1998, following Ronald Dellums' early retirement, who was her mentor and the first African-American chair of the House Armed Services Committee, and that on her first day, she proudly became the 218th signature on a campaign finance reform discharge petition.
