US Representative Rosendale speaks on House Speaker McCarthy's ouster
WASHINGTON DC, US - OCTOBER 4: US Representative Matt Rosendale on Wednesday, Oct. 4, answered journalists' questions in the wake of Speaker of the House of Representatives Kevin McCarthy's ouster.
Rosendale, one of the eight Republican members who voted for McCarthy's dismissal, made a statement to the press in front of McCarthy's office in the Capitol building in Washington DC.
McCarthy was removed Tuesday as Speaker of the House of Representatives in a historic vote prompted by a revolt from the top Republican's right flank. The 216-210 vote saw eight Republican lawmakers and all Democrats who were present vote to remove him.
Republican Rep. Patrick McHenry was appointed interim speaker until a leader can be selected.
